The cost of space travel varies significantly depending on the type of experience. Zero Gravity flights, which simulate weightlessness aboard a modified Boeing 727, start from $8,900 per person. Edge-of-space jet fighter flights in aircraft such as the MiG-29 Foxbat start from $18,000. Stratospheric balloon voyages to 100,000 feet are available from $125,000. Suborbital spaceflight — crossing the Kármán line at 100 kilometres — is available from $250,000 with operators including Blue Origin (New Shepard) and Virgin Galactic (VSS Unity). Space Perspective previously offered balloon flights but ceased operations. Space Experiences monitors all operators and advises clients on the best options for their goals.
Astronaut training programmes vary by mission type. For Zero G flights, minimal preparation is needed — a brief safety briefing before the flight. Suborbital missions with Blue Origin or Virgin Galactic include one to three days of pre-flight training at the launch facility. Orbital missions to the ISS with Axiom Space require extensive preparation including high-G centrifuge training, spacecraft systems familiarisation, spacewalk procedures, emergency protocols, and physical conditioning. Space Experiences arranges comprehensive astronaut training programmes as part of every spaceflight package, including the option to meet and train alongside veteran astronauts.
